Common Archetypes Among Steampunk

Steampunk is a type of fantasy genre, a work of fictional ideas completely improbable in their use of old equipment to make futuristic products, the concepts around Steampunk are often applied in the past prior to technological advancements giving if a very unique makeshift look reminiscent of things found during apocalyptic circumstances, also the designs always had an obvious gothic theme to them, dark hues and material like grey, banged up metals, rusted bronze and old and dirty wood, but never colors that are exaggerated or uplifting unless there are lights attached to them; the genre was quite prominent during the Victorian era where it draws many of its ideas within that period of history, especially the complexity of the designs and use of steam related pieces. Some examples of Steampunk are used in many entertainment mediums such as film and video games, sometimes only partially use- e.g. Wild Wild West, The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello, Bioshock: Infinite, The Order: 1886, Dishonoured, Rage, Fallout, The Last of Us, Metro, Enslaved, Rust, Half-Life, etc.
